Politico reveals (ht Washington’s Blog) that the Washington Post has nothing over Government-subsidized CNBC. Today it is revealed that the Washington Post wants to sell access to “key” Obama Administration officials:
“Underwriting Opportunity: An evening with the right people can alter the debate,” says the one-page flier. “Underwrite and participate in this intimate and exclusive Washington Post Salon, an off-the-record dinner and discussion at the home of CEO and Publisher Katharine Weymouth. … Bring your organization’s CEO or executive director literally to the table. Interact with key Obama administration and congressional leaders.”
While the Washingon Post disavows any intention to jeopardize the integrity of its news reporting section, it is clear that Katharine Weymouth believes the paper has special access to the Obama Administration and key congressional leaders and the reason it has such is pretty obvious: they ARE IN THE TANK for them…
